The Last American Oligarch…
“Representative government is artifice, a political myth, designed to conceal from the masses the dominance of a self-selected, self-perpetuating, and self-serving traditional ruling class.”
―
I watched Joe Biden’s innaguration as the 46th President of the United States. The music played by the Marines was parade music. It was happy music.
It didn’t do a good job distracting from the visible tension at the event and the anxiety in the air.
I went over it again, and as I type, the Biden children and grandchildren are making their way out of the building and being introduced. I saw the Clintons and the Obamas introduced already, but I wanted to point out an interesting comment made by the announcers when the Bushes where announced. He refered to the “Bush Legacy”.
It made me wonder.
Two generations of Bushes, we almost had two Clintons, and I heard from both sides of the political spectrum some wouldn’t be oposed to seeing an Obama or Trump “legacy” continue.
What the fok are we doing America? I thought we where proud to not have a king. Wasn’t that the whole foking point? Why are we ok with this if we are still a democracy, because if we are not, I’m going to have to see the memo.
I don’t think Trump was the first one to attempt an oligarchy in this country. He was simply the most overt and careless about it. That doesn’t change the fact that we have families TRYING to cement political bloodlines into our government.
This has gone too far and it ends now.
And also, can we please stop wasting resources while on a super-spreader for the sake of “tradition”? Maybe I’m noticing these things because they look so foolish and humanly fragile without adoring subjects to back them up.
Watching the Inauguration without the crowd is like watching Friends without the soundtrack.
It isn’t as distracting, and you realize Ross sounds like a psychopath.
So I hope we are all woke to this now. There is no excuses anymore. Anyone remotely close to looking like they are trying to pull this “oligarchy” stunt needs to be voted out, no questions. If you love the family so much, go be with them. We need someone to meet the needs of their country, not their heirs.
#CivilSERVANT with emphasis on the servant.
So get to serving the will of the people.
